  • Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results oriented Associate within the UK Unlisted Real Estate Investment team. The role will be to contribute to the group’s efforts to source, invest, develop, manage and divest properties and/or joint venture interests in properties, predominantly in London.

    The unlisted real estate strategy focuses on office and retail assets in eight cities globally as well as on global logistics. The fund invests in real estate to improve the long-term trade-off between return and risk, and our objective is to generate excess return over time and to diversify the fund. The GPFG has a 5% allocation to real estate.

    The position is based in London. Some travel will be required. You will report to the Head of UK Real Estate.

     

    Main responsibilities

    • Assist and contribute in the ongoing management of the existing portfolio:
    • Assisting with creating annual and long-term business plans
    • Assisting with the execution of asset management initiatives including leasing, refurbishment, redevelopment and improvements to operational efficiency
    • Monitoring and analysing the operational and financial performance of existing investments 
    • Managing and monitoring the performance of external property managers and other service providers
    • Contributing to group collaboration and sharing knowledge across the NBIM organisation

    Assist and contribute to new investments

    • Performing rigorous financial analysis and modelling of new investment opportunities
    • Producing investment memorandums and management presentations about existing or new investments
    • Participating in the coordination of external advisers during due diligence and acquisition processes
    • Producing in-depth research on real estate market data and trends
    • Reviewing legal documentation and managing certain legal documents (NDAs, LOIs) 

    What you need 

    • University degree with strong academic records
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant real estate investment experience, preferably from a fund investor or top tier investment bank
    • Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills
    • High level of proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
