  • Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking an outstanding individual for a portfolio manager role on the Healthcare Team. The team is part of the Sector Strategies department within our Equity Strategies area. Sector Strategies is responsible for a broad range of industry focused risk mandates within the fund’s large equity portfolio.
    Our sector portfolio managers run their portfolios with full autonomy within their investment mandates, basing their investment decisions on their own fundamental research and in-depth knowledge of companies and the markets in which they operate. The portfolio managers also help to fulfil the fund’s ownership role.

    The position can be in either London or New York, and travel will be required. 

    The Role 
    As one of our portfolio managers, you will manage a sizeable global long only equity portfolio focused on healthcare services companies. You will build up in-depth knowledge through industry research and coverage of companies in the sector. You will make an impact through generating excess return for the fund on a sustained basis. You will also contribute to the fund’s ownership by assessment of relevant company and sector issues, and by maintaining the fund’s relationship with individual companies in your sector.
    You will work alongside talented colleagues, both on the Healthcare team, but also across Sector Strategies more broadly, and benefit from their global industry knowledge and market experience. 
    The role offers the right person a unique opportunity to build a long-term career within fundamentally based investment management. The fund’s stability of capital, best in class corporate access, and our ability to tailor the investment focus to match portfolio manager experience, will together with your own skills and efforts provide a strong basis for investment outperformance.

    Required experience 
    • Minimum of 5 years of investment experience focused in the Healthcare Services sector OR
    • Demonstrable experience of analysing and investing in the Healthcare Services sector. Experience including the US healthcare services industries is preferable
    • Bachelor or Master’s degree with strong academic records

  • Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented professional for the position of Forensic Accounting Investment Analyst, within the Equity Strategies area. The position provides an opportunity to play an important role in the fund’s management of our equity portfolios.

    The Role
    In this role, you will conduct fundamental primary research and produce company specific investment recommendations for a portfolio that will take active, company-level equity positions based principally on Forensic Accounting analysis.  Candidates should be curious, hard-working, thorough and collaborative.
    The position is based in London and will report to the Global Head of Credit.  When applicable, some travel will be required.

    Main responsibilities
    • Performing primary research on companies and industries.
    • Conducting thorough accounting and financial statement analyses of companies based on company filings and alternative data sources.
    • Scrutinizing companies at a detailed level for potential relative underperformance.
    • Working closely with Portfolio Managers to generate equity investment ideas.
    • Preparing written investment analyses and opinions based on primary research.
    • Assisting in the ongoing development and utilization of accounting screening methodology.
    • Contributing to a hardworking, high-performing team.

    Main qualifications 
    • Strong academic records in accounting or finance.
    • CFA, CPA, ACA or equivalent are needed for this role.
    • Superb understanding of accounting rules and financial statement analysis.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Norges Bank Investment Management is responsible for the Government Pension Fund Global (Oljefondet). We are seeking a dedicated and results-orientated Analyst to join the Asset Servicing team. Asset Servicing is part of the Operations area and consists of three core functions – the corporate action support for the listed equities and fixed income investments, custody reconciliation and Proxy voting operation. In this role you will be part of the corporate action support.

    What you will do 
    The Asset Servicing Analyst will perform a variety of middle office functions to support portfolio managers, corporate governance and Trading. The ideal candidate should have interest in IT tools and the willingness to learn to use it widely, be eager to learn financial products and thrive in a team environment. In addition, to learning you must be interested and happy  in taking on various tasks and responsibilities cross the Asset Servicing team. 
    You will engage with a global team. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be challenged on a wide range of tasks in a rapidly changing environment. There will be great development opportunities for the right candidate to shape the role according to his or her own interests and competencies. We can in addition promise you a lot of fun and great colleagues. 
    The position is located in Oslo and will report to the Head of Asset Servicing. Some travel may be required.

    • Supporting the corporate action process chain from event capture to settlement
    • Administering voluntary corporate action instruction process with internal investment team and global custodian and other vendors
    • Facilitating and following up reconciliation break resolution process for corporate action entitlements
    • Support the Proxy voting process (make sure our Global custodian capture all our shareholder votes)
    • Participating in project work and business process enhancement initiatives
    • Drive development to improve overall process efficiency both internally and towards our vendors

    What you need 
    • Bachelor degree in finance, economics, IT or other numeric areas
    • IT and system skills like ability to utilize databases, Python, SQL, Simcorp Dimension and other software tools would be an advantage
    • Knowledge of corporate action process and how to support it is an advantage
