Our graduate programme is for people who are excited by AI and want to apply it to challenges that genuinely matter.
You will work on projects across Norges Bank Investment Management, which manages one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds.
The programme runs for 12 months. You will spend the first nine months working on AI projects with our AI team. For the final three months, you will move into one of our business areas.
That final business area is where you will continue your career. Business needs shape the positions available. You can share interests and preferences as part of the application process.
The projects you will work on span the whole organisation. They cover investment management, risk, trading, technology, governance and compliance. Projects vary in length and scope. They follow the pace of development and the needs of the business.
You will start with structured onboarding and upskilling. This gives you a strong foundation before your first project. After that, you keep learning on the job. You work closely with experienced colleagues and get regular feedback. You also receive structured training in finance and investment. You have regular check-ins on your progress. A dedicated mentor and a buddy will also support you throughout.
Applications for the 2027 graduate programme open on 24 July and close on 15 August.
No two projects are the same. Your work may include:
Alongside your projects, you will help build our AI infrastructure. You will also support colleagues across the fund in adopting AI tools. This breadth means you will develop both technical depth and a real understanding of how a world-class investment fund operates.
What matters most is real enthusiasm for AI, together with a sincere interest in finance. This is the field you will work in.
You don’t need to be an expert. We look for creative, curious people who have already started exploring AI and like getting hands-on. We will help you go deeper.
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds. These include data science, AI, finance, computer science, mathematics, statistics and engineering. We value diverse perspectives and encourage applications from candidates with different life experiences and backgrounds.
What we really want to see is curiosity, initiative, and a real enthusiasm for AI and what it can do within investment management. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
You can be based in Oslo, London or New York. When you apply, you tell us your preferred office. This is normally where you live or feel most connected. That office becomes your base for your career with us.
The first phase is dedicated to training with the rest of your cohort in Oslo. You may also work from our international offices on projects, depending on business needs.
We sponsor work visas for candidates selected to the programme, subject to eligibility.
