  • Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a climate risk analyst to join its ESG Risk Monitoring team in the Investment Risk department. The team monitors environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks across the fund, builds analytical models to measure fund exposure to climate risk, and supports portfolio risk management and external reporting.

    We have an ambition to be leading in responsible investment. The role offers the right person a unique opportunity to push the frontiers of climate risk management in financial markets and influence how a trillion-dollar fund responds to risks posed by climate change.

    You will have a passion for working with large data sets and play a key role in further developing our ESG data capabilities. You will use data tools and resources to build new models that help us understand long-term exposure of companies and sectors to climate risk. Quantitatively inclined individuals with a background in economics, finance, or natural sciences and with a strong interest in climate risk and fund management are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of climate models, scenarios, and relevant data is required. Advanced technical training and skills development will be supported as needed.

    The position is located in London and will report to the Head of ESG Risk Monitoring. Some travel will be required.

    What you will do 
    • Helping build and maintain analytical tools and models to monitor climate risk in the fund.
    • Being a key resource for the application of climate scenario analysis in investment portfolios. 
    • Engaging with external vendors and research organizations, analyse new ESG-related data products, and support data sourcing, structuring, and integration.
    • Communicating insights from data models to relevant stakeholders in the organization.

    What you need 
    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, economics, finance, engineering, natural sciences, or other relevant quantitative field with strong academic records.
    • Up to 5 years of demonstrated experience working with databases and using programming languages, preferably in the financial sector.
    • Advanced knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages for data analytics, and experience with databases, e.g., MS SQL Server, SNOWFLAKE, or similar, is required. Knowledge of cloud computing is an advantage.
    • Demonstrated use of visualization tools such as Tableau, JavaScript or similar, is desirable.
    • Familiarity with corporate standards for greenhouse gas accounting, decarbonization models, and net zero investment frameworks, is preferred.

    • Participate in Incident Management and Problem Management processes to resolve incidents and problem tickets in a timely manner and further perform root cause analysis

  • We are seeking a dedicated and result oriented professional for the position of Senior Advisor / Advisor in Markets Compliance in the Governance and Compliance area. The Markets Compliance team is one of two Compliance teams in Norges Bank Investment Management.

    The Role 
    The Markets Compliance team is responsible for providing advisory compliance coverage to the Norges Bank Investment Management investment and trading businesses globally, operating in both public and private markets. The main objective of the role will be to manage the markets compliance advisory support for the New York office as part of the team’s global coverage, acting as a trusted partner for the trading and investment businesses and office operations and ensuring employees follow the firm’s conduct of business rules. This entails providing input into investment decisions, advising on regulatory developments, internal conduct guidelines and applicable market rules in the Americas relevant to trading, capital markets and asset management.   • Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results oriented professional to join its unlisted US Real Estate team. The unlisted real estate strategy focuses on office and retail assets in eight cities globally as well as on global logistics. The fund invests in real estate to improve the long-term trade-off between return and risk, and our objective is to generate excess return over time and to diversify the fund. The real estate platform invests in direct ownership of real estate (‘Unlisted’) and into publicly traded REITs (‘Listed’).

    As an Analyst, you will join Norges Bank Investment Management in its New York City office and focus on the management of the existing unlisted US office portfolio. The role presents an opportunity to gain exposure to a portfolio of assets across New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco totaling over $22 billion in gross asset value and over 24 million square feet.  Additionally, the Analyst may have some involvement in new investment activity. Norges Bank Investment Management’s unlisted US Real Estate Team invests as a limited partner through joint ventures across its target markets.     You will be working on the following tasks:
    • Be a part of the IAM team and safeguard that the IAM solution meet the defined IAM architecture and IAM policies
    • Develop automation for infrastructure deployment and configuration as code mainly in PowerShell, Python and/or CloudFormation
    • Management and automation of advanced tasks related to Azure Active Directory
    • Define authentication and authorization services for e.g. web applications and containers based on our toolchain

    What you need 
    Experience from majority of the following is required: 
    • Hands-on experience with IAM and a good understanding of IAM concepts
    • Hands-on experience with AD, Azure AD and PKI
    • Hands-on experience with public cloud services, preferably Amazon Web Services. 
    • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably CloudFormation
