Empowering the next generation of women in finance

The Women's Investment Club (WIC) is a student-driven initiative that aims to inspire, educate, and empower female students to explore and pursue careers in finance and investing.

Building knowledge and networks

We support the creation of WIC at universities across Norway and internationally. These clubs provide a collaborative environment where women can learn from each other, develop financial skills, and build networks within the finance industry.

The clubs focus on creating low-threshold environments where students can:

  • Participate in practical workshops on investing and financial analysis
  • Attend talks and lectures from finance professionals
  • Connect with peers through networking events and social gatherings
  • Develop skills and confidence for careers in finance

Our role in supporting the clubs

Norges Bank Investment Management supports the Women's Investment Club through:

  • Advisory participation: We participate in the advisory board, which facilitates coordination between clubs across universities
  • Educational resources: Guest lectures from our investment professionals
  • Women's Investment Summit: Brings together members from all clubs – link to Womens investment summit page
  • Financial support: Funding to help establish and maintain club activities

Where to find Women's Investment Club

The initiative is currently active at the following universities. See what the various clubs are up to and get involved:

Each university club operates independently, with local boards determining their own meeting schedules, events, and activities.

We envision a future where the finance industry is as inclusive as it is innovative, and where men and women are equally represented. Supporting student-led initiatives like the Women's Investment Club is an important step toward achieving this goal.
