26 November 2015

Stephen A. Hirsch has been appointed Chief Compliance and Control Officer (CCO) in Norges Bank Investment Management, and will join the fund on 1 December 2015.

Stephen Hirsch has previously worked 12 years at the fund. He joined the fund in 1998 as Senior Portfolio Manager. He then took the responsibility as Chief Operating Officer of Equities and Deputy Head of Equities and later Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO of the fund in 2008.

"We are very happy to welcome Steve back to the fund. He brings with him the right leadership qualities combined with unique skills and a very deep understanding of the fund", says Yngve Slyngstad, CEO in Norges Bank Investment Management.

Hirsch moved back to the US in 2010 where he has been working as Chief Investment Officer for an independent investment advisor company.

He will take over from Jan Thomsen, who has taken the newly established position of Chief Compliance and Control Officer at Norges Bank Real Estate Management.

The Compliance and Control area manages the fund's work on compliance, internal control, operational risk management and security, covering all business areas.
