Chief Executive Officer Yngve Slyngstad
Yngve Slyngstad holds a degree in law from the University of Oslo, a degree in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, an M.A. in Economics from the University of California and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Paris.
Mr. Slyngstad joined the staff of Norges Bank in 1998 with the responsibility of building up NBIM’s equity management activities. Yngve Slyngstad was appointed Chief Executive Director on 1 January 2008.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer  Stephen A. Hirsch
Stephen A. Hirsch started as Portfolio Manager in Norges Bank in 1998. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Equity Team in 2004 and Chief Operating Officer of NBIM in 2008. He joined Norges Bank from The Clifton Group where he was Principal and Portfolio Manager.
Stephen A. Hirsch has an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the University of St Thomas. After completing his undergraduate degree he spent over 6 years as an aircrew member in the United States Air Force.

Chief Investment Officer  Bengt O. Enge
Bengt O. Enge joined NBIM in 1998 and has held various positions in the organisation. His last position was as Global Head of External Management. He previously worked with Frank Russell Company in London as a Research Analyst in Fixed Income Managers Research.
Bengt O. Enge holds an MBA from HEC School of Management, Paris, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma. |

Chief Treasurer Jessica Irschick
Jessica Irschick joins NBIM from UBS where she was Chief of Staff to the CEO of the Investment Bank. Jessica Irschick is based in London. Prior to UBS, Jessica Irschick spent over 12 years in Institutional Sales and Trading Division of Morgan Stanley where she was most recently the Global COO for Sales and Trading Distribution in New York. Previously, she was based in London and held positions in client relationship management and equity derivative sales.
She began her career working in fixed income and equity trading at Salomon Brothers (now part of Citigroup) in Tokyo in 1987. In 1991, Ms. Irschick moved to San Francisco to take up the position of global head of Equity and Fixed Income Trading at Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors (now part of BlackRock). She then worked at Goldman Sachs in New York where she was an institutional equity trader prior to joining Morgan Stanley.
Jessica Irschick has a Bachelors of Science in both Operations Research and Economics from Cornell University, New York.

Chief Risk Officer Trond Grande
Trond Grande joined NBIM in 2007 as Global Head of Risk Management, and has previously held a dual role as Deputy COO and Global Head of Risk Management. He has worked at Storebrand Kapitalforvaltning in Norway for 12 years where his two last positions were Senior Vice President Finance and Senior Vice President Financial Risk Management.
Trond Grande has a Masters of International Management from NHH, Bergen/ESADE, Barcelona, and an MBA in Finance from NHH in Bergen.

Chief Administrative Officer  Mark Clemens
Mark Clemens joins NBIM from Citigroup in New York where he was global Chief Administrative Officer with responsibility for the Compliance & Control division. His areas of responsibility included Regulatory Compliance Risk Management, Governance Reporting, Technology, Financial Planning, Human Resources, Disaster Recovery Planning, Vendor and Office Management.
Mark Clemens joined Citigroup in 1999 and has been a Chief Administrative Officer since 2005. Prior to this role, he was Compliance CAO for Citigroup’s Wealth Management division and Corporate Anti-Money Laundering function. He previously worked in Citigroup’s Investment Research division as the Business Manager for the North & Latin America regions. He transferred to New York in 2001 from Sydney, Australia where he was the Business Manager for Australia & New Zealand Equity Research. He began with Citigroup’s legacy firm, Salomon Brothers, in London as a consultant.
Mark Clemens has a Master of Commerce from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

Chief Operating Officer  Age Bakker
Age Bakker joined NBIM in 2009 as Global Head of IT, and has previously held positions in teaching and in the investment management industry. He has worked at Storebrand Kapitalforvaltning in Norway for 14 years, and his last position was Chief Operating Officer.
Age Bakker has a Masters Degree in Economics from Vrije University, Amsterdam and intermediate studies in Computer Science from the University of Tromsø. |

Chief Strategic Relations Officer Dag Dyrdal
Dag Dyrdal joined NBIM in 2009 as Global Head of External Relations, and has previously held various management positions in international business. Most recently, he was the CEO and entrepreneur of two London-based enterprises within trading methodologies and reputation analysis. He has management experience from research and consulting, and started his career as a financial journalist with Reuters.
Dag Dyrdal has a Master of Political Science from the University of Oslo.

Chief Compliance Officer Jan Thomsen
Jan Thomsen joins NBIM from Orkla ASA where he was Chief Risk Officer. Prior to this role Jan Thomsen held various management positions at Det Norske Veritas, including director/head of the Industry and Finance Market Sector, head of Systems and Software and head of Risk Management. He previously worked as Consultant, Senior Consultant and Manager at Arthur Andersen /Andersen Consulting, and as Teaching Assistant at the Norwegian Institute of Technology.
Jan Thomsen has a PhD in risk management and change management from Stanford University (USA), a Master’s degree in Engineering Physics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, and management training in Corporate Development and Strategy from IMD (Switzerland) and INSEAD (France).
