Stephen A. Hirsch

Stephen A. Hirsch was named Deputy Chief Executive Officer in June 2008. Hirsch joined Norges Bank as a portfolio manager in 1998. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Equity Team in 2004 and Chief Operating Officer of NBIM in March 2008. Prior to joining Norges Bank, Hirsch was Principal and Portfolio Manager in The Clifton Group in Minneapolis.

Stephen A. Hirsch has an MBA degree from the University of Minnesota/Carlson School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota.  After completing his undergraduate degree he spent more than six years as an aircrew member in the United States Air Force.
