Programme description

The fast-track training offered through ITP equips people for success in the investment industry. Our goal for you, is that by the end of ITP you are ready to embark on a career as one of the high-potential specialists upon whom we count to achieve our goals. 

To get there, candidates go through a programme of four one-year components:

Investment management discovery (first year)

During the first twelve months you will gain hands-on experience of how one of the world’s largest fund managers operates. You will be provided on-the-job training in two to three different departments, enabling you to learn and understand the investment business. Rotation departments typically include Risk Manaqement, Investment Operations, Investment Advice, Ownership Strategies, IT, Trading and Treasury.

Investment banking experience (second year)

For the next twelve months you will have the unique opportunity to follow the Analyst/ Associate programme of one of our partner investment banks in London, New York or Asia. This part of the programme will provide you with first-hand access to some of the world’s top specialists and senior managers in the international investment business.

Investment management experience (third year)

For the next twelve months you will be working as an Analyst/Associate at NBIM, with the opportunity to prove yourself while putting what you have learned to use. We will jointly decide on your department and location, whether Portfolio Management, Trading, Treasury, Risk, Research, Operations or Administration in Oslo, London, New York or Shanghai.

International MBA (fourth year)

To round off your Investment Talent Programme, NBIM sponsors your one-year MBA at one of the top-ranking international business schools. We collaborate closely with some of the strongest MBA programmes in Europe and the USA.
