Petroleum Insurance Fund
NBIM is the manager of the Government Petroleum Insurance Fund on behalf of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.
The rules which govern the management are issued through Ministry regulation, and pertain to management, working account, placement and investment restrictions, benchmark, risk, credit, etc. The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy issues additional supplementary guidelines on credit risk, benchmark portfolio, relative risk etc.
The management takes place within the framework stipulated in the Government Petroleum Insurance Fund Act of 30 May 1986, Regulation of 13 December 1996 and further guidelines set by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, and the Management Agreement between the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and Norges Bank.
